You can do it too! This Make Money and Travel series exists as a source of inspiration. We figured if we were going to start this open, honest and hopefully helpful series, we better start with ourselves. So, here we go.
In we sold everything, packed up our two cats and bought a home on wheels. The concept was simple: Ok, maybe not just like everyone else. I feel like the first thing I should say is that neither of us come from rich families or are independently wealthy which is always the first assumption. Nothing has been handed to us on a silver spoon. I, Nikki, am the one writing. Over time we found other ways making money as well. From tourism boards, to adventure companies, to campgrounds, we create experiential and promotional videos and photographs for their needs.

Should You Buy a Campground? Cash, location and future development potential all play into investment decision By WI STAFF Western Investor July 27, Owner Don Zimmer is selling the six-acre campground in Pincher Creek, Alberta he has owned for 10 years, and is among those who caution dreamy-eyed investors that buying a running a campground is not as easy as some may think. Most interest was from aging baby boomers. The campground, like most in Western Canada, is open from May to October and Zimmer said one of reasons he is selling is to get his summer vacations back.
Location is also a key factor, particularly if the potential exit strategy includes selling for equity appreciation, he added.
Jackson County Ohio Campground/Fairground. Full-hook up year-round camping available. Daily/monthly rates available. WiFi available. Annual Entertainment features July County Fair, Harness Racing, Live Concerts, Rodeo, Moto-Cross, Demolition Derby and many other exciting family fun events throughout the year.
Originally we planned to overnight in BC’s Glacier National Park, but it was too buggy, stormy and early in the day to hole up in the van for 18 hours. So, we continued on towards the Washington border, along Hwy Turns out, hot July weekends are kinda busy in Canada, especially when their dollar is week and it’s a “long weekend” which is a thing in Canada, eh!
To shorten a long story, I spotted a sentence in the printed “Go Camping BC” guide we picked up along the way which stated “This park has the area’s best overflow camping facilities which include 3 grass terraces equipped with tables and shared fire pits While of course we did not score a proper spot on the terrace late on a Saturday afternoon, we found a perfectly nice slice of pavement along the boat trailer area, with grass along the front, a nice breeze from the lake with the doors open.
There are a bunch of large trailers and motor homes on the other side of the overflow lot, and they’ve got decent shade and picnic tables. There’s even an overflow tent area. We’re pretty happy that we can roll down the west-side shades, open the windows and doors, grab our shower supplies and clean up after a week exploring the rustic and crowded campgrounds in Banff, Kootenay, Glacier and Revelstoke NPs! Showers were hot and clean, most of the other humans are down on or next to the water and we’ve got ice cold beer to enjoy while the sun goes down

The park totals hectares, incorporating hectares of upland and hectares of foreshore, and is a popular day-use destination for lake and beach-based recreation. There are no developed hiking trails in the park, and camping is not permitted. The sandy shores of Kennedy Lake offer good swimming opportunities, but there is no designated swimming area at the park.
